BRAND SHOOT Part 1: My girls and I

WELCOME

I don't blog. I just need a place to showcase the work of so many talented photographers. So rest assured most of my future posts will not contain words. Just pictures.

When I started Mel Haupt Floral in the spring of 2015, I knew developing a brand that people would recognize as mine was very important. It was an exciting year of learning and working with some of the industries best, and booking a few small weddings, but until last fall, I had yet to really get to create something that I felt was all mine; something that portrayed the feeling and aesthetic I have imagined for my overall brand. I saved up enough money so that I could create the photo shoot of my dreams and blow all my money on the most beautiful flowers! It was fun.

With that said, it would not have been fun without the tremendous amount of help and support from a few talented and dear friends.
I've been secretly obsessed with stylist Sarah Jane Larsen, of Hazel & Jane, for years now. Let's get real, half of the reason I dreamt up this photo shoot was so I could finally meet and work with her! Boom. She succeeded all expectations and it such a kind, good, and  FREAKING GENIUS of a human. The picnic scene??? All her. BANANAS.
To capture these insanely perfect images, I enlisted Ashley Thalman, of Ashley Thalman Photography. She is my hero. There's no one else out there that can do what she does. Her images speak for themselves. She will forever be the one behind the camera when I am in need of updated family photos. Or, like a boudoir shoot of me.....
For hair and makeup I hired one of my best friends, Megan Sonderegger, of Face by Meg. I rarely wear makeup, because I'm a hippie. But mostly, because I'm lazy. So..... I didn't want much, just enough to make sure I didn't look like a haggard mother of 3 little shits. I think we did it?! (and the piggies!!!)
Lastly, I reached out to some family friends who own this gorgeous piece of land in Springville's west fields (Springville, UT). They are multi-generational cattle ranchers (*take notice of the model worthy cows in the following post) and the most generous of people. Love them.

ENJOY!
